Savannah becomes a WeCan City

Savannah earns the coveted title of WeCan city, one of only fifteen across the US! Diane Weems, MD, Medical Director of the Chatham County Health Department presented the award to Mayor Otis Johnson on June 13, 2009 as both city and local health officials looked on.  Click here to read the coverage by the National Institutes of Health.

In 2007 The National Institutes of Health established the WeCan City designation to help city leaders improve the health of children through better eating habits, more exercise and less time in front of a TV or computer.Click here to learn more about what a WeCan city is.
